Quartz Tube
- ※ Quartz tube has different characteristics from typical glass tubes:
- Highest purity (above 99.9%) material (silicon dioxide: SiO2)
- Chemically stable due to low gas content. Used in semiconductor industry
- Available to use at high temperature. Softening point: 1683 ℃
- Can withstand quenching and rapid heating due to its low thermal expansion coefficient.
- Typical glass (tube) cannot transmit UV. Quartz (tube) transmits UV and IR band wavelength.
- Has high electrical insulation and high acid resistance

Quartz Tube
- UV lamp dedicated ballast shall be used to turn on UV lamp. Using dedicated ballast has significant impact on the lamp efficiency and its service life. It is because the UV lamp has different characteristics from that of typical lamps.
